Right Yaa Wrong: Bollywood Movie Review

Right Yaa Wrong by debutant director Neeraj Pathak has been a rather demotivating thriller in this IPL season 3. Although the film is a multi-starrer, with Sunny Deol in the lead along with Irrfan Khan, Isha Koppikar and Konkona Sen Sharma, yet it could not grab public attention as the storyline could easily be anticipated.

It portrays Sunny Deol as a crippled police officer and his wife (Isha Koppikar) who is in an alleged affair with his stepbrother. The duo makes a plot to bump off Sunny Deol on some insurance money motive but a series of unpredictable twists and turns follow. Eventually, the story brings Irrfan Khan, another upright police officer in a solid role opposite to Mr. Deol and Konkona Sen Sharma, Irrfan’s lawyer sister who challenges the court in support of Sunny Deol.

The writers, Girish Dhamija, Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and Neeraj Pathak came up with a strong script and screenplay, but the film wasn’t something to gush about.

Overall performance was smooth, as Mr. Pathak has tried to give a grey shade to all the characters in order to create a realistic effect and has done justice to the title. While Sunny Deol played a stable role, Isha Koppikar did an excellent job by portraying a lovable wife and doting mother alongside a woman who betrays her husband. As per the roles essayed, Irrfan Khan and Konkona did a great job but it disappointed the audience who expected a bit more from them.
