Mahapralay: The doomsday begins

Mahapralay, the 20th Century Fox Flick release, is the Hindi version of the English movie ‘The day the earth stood still’ overloaded with special effects, but lacks a coherent story or a foundation backbone. It is the remake of the 1951 science fiction classic. It has been directed by Scott Derrickson and has been nominated for the satellite awards for best visual features and sound mixing. This thriller was released on December 12 2008 and stars Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Clooney, Kathy Bates and Jaden Smith. The movie is produced by Gregory Godman, Boardman and Paul Harris. The screenplay has been done by David Scarpa under the work of Edmund North, who had work for the original movie with Robert Wise, as the director.
The theme of the movie revolves around the cold war, focussing the nuclear warfare and the other contemporary issue of the environmental damage caused by the humankind. The story is all about an alien traveller, Klaatu, who travels to earth, in the company of his bodyguard robot called as Gort, to pass across the warning message of planetary destruction. It might be possible due to the ongoing manner, in which peace is not bought to the civilization mostly by indulging into nuclear wars. On an average, the film has been rates 2.6 out of 5.
It is felt that this movie is a blotched remake of the 1951 classic in spite of being technically proficient. It is launched to the top leaving the second position to “Four Christmases’ and makes 31 million dollars in Canadian and US theatres.
So, get geared to watch the contemporary Hindi remake of the flick in Desi Style and enticing special effects. The stunts and sounds are definitely a treat for the Indian populace. So get going!
