Kissan: Bollywood Movie Review
September 28, 2009 by funk · View Comments
Its time that the khan brothers realizes that Indian movies has come of age and remixing old patriotic numbers like “mere desh ki dharti” don’t fetch brownie points anymore.
A viewer in India has become mature, and a good well written well executed movie can only win their heats and not cheap melodrama.
Kissan is a pathetic melodrama from the khan camp and is heavily borrowed from the Manoj Kumar starrer “upkaar”
The plot of the movie revolves around two brothers with different ideologies. One of them is happy to be a farmer ( sohail) while the educated ( arbaaz) counterpart wants to sell the property and earn money in a more rural way.
The local businessman played by Dalip Tahil creates a rift among the brothers and both of them are pitted against each other.
What follows is a series of unnecessary blood battles and ultimately a cliché family reunion that is as in comprehend able as the rest of the story
The movie is filed with the melodrama from the 80’s and fails to address any current issues bothering the farmers of modern generation. The director tries to win favor with the audience by tickling their emotions but fails miserably.
