Director Priyadarshan is back with another movie starring his favorite star cast. The movie De Dana Dan is a trademark Priyadarshan flick where the basic plot is comedy occurring due to misunderstandings. In this flick Nitin (Akshay Kumar) is a poor guy who works as a servant in Singapore. He always dreams of becoming rich. Ram (Sunil Shetty) and Nitin are best friends so Ram comes to Singapore in search of a better life but ends up becoming a courier boy. Harbans Chadda (Paresh Rawal) is a rich guy who is no longer rich as he is in serious debt. So, he decides to marry his son Chunkey Pandey to the daughter of the guy who offers the maximum dowry.dedanadan

Meanwhile Anjali (Katrina Kaif) and Manpreet (Sameera Reddy) fall in love with Nitin and Ram respectively. Both are daughters of rich parents who will not allow their daughter to marry such peasants. So, Nitin and Ram get an ultimatum from their girlfriends to get rich by any means. So, they devise a kidnapping plan which goes accordingly, and now they are waiting for the ransom money in a hotel where they are hiding. However, this is the same hotel in which Manpreet’s wedding is going to happen. What happens next is complete comedy of confusion, as usual Priyadarshan style. The musical score is given by Pritam.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani

Certainly bollywood films don’t always get their humor flicks quite right leaving an innocent viewer very bored. However, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani certainly does tickle your funny bones every now and then. You can’t term the entire film a funny flick but for the most part you’d be laughing. Having Katrina and Ranbirr stammer whenever they’re nervous wasn’t funny 1 bit. However, Ranbir Kapoor did pull off a lot of the humor on his shoulders alone, despite being with a group of friends at all times. Katrina doesn’t have any funny scenes quite honestly. The villains too make us viewers laugh a few times, and so do Ranbirs parents.ajabpremkighazabkahani

Overall, a little editing would have worked better to make viewers laugh at one situation after another rather than have to wait for humor to build up. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is not a satirical comedy and has no ounce of seriousness in it so it’s best if you don’t look for logic. Editing goofs too have been overlooked and Upen Patel’s role isn’t too great and there’s great difficulty figuring whether he’s from London, or Canada. Leave aside the thinking and even happy club seems passé, but Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani has its moments of comic glory.

For those who are into cricket and sweet charms this movie is worth watching. Starring Shaid Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee this is the latest movie from the production house of Yash and Aditya

Like almost all Yash Raj films this movie is set in the mythical land of the Punjab where in almost everyone of the n number of characters is seen to be full of life and ready to burst into song and dance at any moment. The only plot of the movie story is that this village where the movie is set is situated near the Wagah border and it is the tradition of this place where in they play a cricket match with a Pakistani team every year.

This movie is inspired from the Hollywood movie ‘she’s the man’ where in the heroine changes her outward appearance to that of a boy so as to get a place on the football team. Push button emotions, misunderstandings, romance and a whole lot of other intricacies thrown into the story in the right measures which makes this a very good film to watch for those who have nothing to do on the weekend.

The USP of this film is the charismatic air that is created by the sweetness and charm given off by the leading pair of Shaid Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee.

Kaminey : Bollywood Music and Movie Review

Kaminey live up to the trade mark style of its director Vishal Bharadwaj. It is a story with an attitude and promises its audiences a journey through a world filled with innocent dreams, shattered faiths, love, betrayal, gang wars, politics and bloodbath. In short kaminey travels through the entire gamut of human emotions in just two hours. kaminey

The story is about the lives of twin brothers ( guddu) portrayed as an honest simple fellow working in an NGO and that of (Charlie) who is a bookie at the race course. Both of them have high ambitions but unfortunately they both seemed to harbor a terrible dislike for each other until one day when they face each other running in a desperate attempt to save their lives, hopes, dreams, and ambition.

Shahid Kapor who plays the role of the twin brothers arguably delivers the best performance of his career. Other performances by Priyanka Chopra and Amol Gupta are also noteworthy. The film wins the heart of the audiences with flawless cinematography, and brilliant script. The movie runs on a fast pace and demands full attention and involvement from the audience to understand the sequence of the events that unfolds one after another. The music is superb and is already a rage with the crowds of the nation.

It’s an almost perfect movie and the only setbacks that seem to exist in is the dragged out climax scene and some scenes that might not be suitable for family viewing. Overall it is an entertaining movie that surely deserves a triple star rating.

New York Bollywood Music And Movie

The movie New York the is about the lives of the muslins living in New York and how their life has changed post 9/11. The film set in a post 9/11 setting revolves around three friends Maya(Katrina Kaif) Omar(john Abraham) and Sameer(Neil Nitin Mukesh).

In the beginning of the film we se Sameer held by the FBI officer Irfan Khan (Roshan) for allegedly carrying arms in his car. Latter on this turns out to be a plan by Roshan to compel Sameer to act as an undercover agent in his own friend Omar’s house who they suspect of being a terrorist. Sameer is forced to agree.newyork

In Omar’s house Sameer meets his crush Maya who is now married to Omar and also has a child. Omar tells Sameer a different story about torture and humiliation that he suffered for 9 months for just for being a Muslim who worshiped Allah and was dark skinned.

The effort by Kabir Khan to portray the picture of New York post 9/11 is noteworthy. However the script fails him, so does the music and the acting.

A theme of such a magnitude requires a lot of mature handling without the silly songs sequence and epilogues about patriotism that is trusted in the movie.

Overall the movie was a disappointment though it had the potential of being a great
crowd puller.
