There is nothing new to the theme, it has been tried and tested a million times on the silver screen. Though the director tries to spice it up with beautiful locale and some comic scenes, she actually fails to save the show.
The story is all about three friends Fardeen Khan, Tusshar Kapoor and Govinda. Farden khan is a staunch believer in love marriages while Tushhar Kapoor believes in the institution of arrange marriage. Govinda following an extreme part does not believe in marriage at all. Trouble crops in when Fardeen and Tushar gets married with Genelia D’Souza and Prachi Desai respectively. MohanDas: Movie And Music Review
September 25, 2009 by funk
Mohan Das is a realistic depiction of the social evils that till date were heard and read about only in televisions or newspaper.
It is a movie about a simple village boy called Mohan Das (Nakul Vaid) who gets an offer to join the Oriental coal mine. Obviously he is excited, but fate it seems has other plans for him. As Mohan das kept waiting in the courtyard weaving dreams of beautiful tomorrow, his job is already taken up by someone else in the Oriental coal mines. Tired and frustrated he gives up hope only to learn that someone else is using his name and is doing the same job.
The film from here on becomes a fight of self identity for this poor village lad. In his journey of truth he is joined by a TV journalist Meghna (Sonali Kulkarni) and district lawyer Harshvardhan ( Aditya Srivastava) . A long tedious journey follows where Mohan Das grows more resigned to his fate and seeks solace in the lap of nature.
The movie has a big social message to convey, but in spite of everything question remains as to how many people would actually pay to see such movies. Performances no doubt are very good but the low budget of the film is very evident in every frame. However we have to agree that it is a wonderful movie and we need more such movies which can highlight the problems of the heartland.

Three – Love Lies Betrayal: Movie Review
September 24, 2009 by funk

The film Three-Love, Lies, Betrayal is produced by Vikram Bhatt. The Bhatt’s are well known to deal with these infidelity schemes and ha has been quite successful in the past. The story of the movie borrows certain elements from the earlier Bhatt’s flicks and has twisting turns that is their signature trademark style.
The movie is about a young couple played called Anjini Dutt (Nausheen Ali Sardar) ) and Rajeev Dutt (Akshay Kapoor). Rajeev is portrayed as a week, unemployed husband who lives off his wife’s income and seeks refuge in the virtual world. Aagey Se Right: Movie Review
September 24, 2009 by funk
Aagey Se Right was hailed as an “an edgy commentary on the chaotic times” in its pre release reviews. Sadly enough after the release both the audiences and the critics did not find anything either comic o edgy in the film.
The film is a directionless, jumbled presentation of certain ideas, that not only fails to entertain, but also irritates and bores the few takers that it had initially.
The story is about a police officer (Sreyas Talpade) who loses his revolver on the second day of his duty. In the entire film that revolver is shown to change hands, but remains unreachable to its owner in a very mysterious way. Then there is another subplot of Kaykay Menon as an ISI agent who comes to India with an agenda to destroy the country, but forgets everything at the first sight of a bar dancer played by Shehnaz Treasurywala. he makes a fool of himself in all the funny and comic activities that he indulges in to impress shehnaz.
The role played by Vijay Maurya as the south Indian don is artificial and the accent is exaggerated. The performance of other actors like Mahi Gill& Siv Pandi is also very average. Shreyas and Kay key’s talent is totally wasted because of the poor screenplay.
This film is an absolute flop movie that is not even watchable as a time pass entertainment
Cast : Shreyas Talpade, Kay Kay Menon, Mahi Gill, Shehnaz Treasurywala, Vijay Maurya, Shiv Pandit
Music Director: Amartya , Ram Sampath
Barah Aana : Movie Review
August 12, 2009 by funk

Seemingly another hit given by Naseeruddin Shah, Barah Aana has hit the theaters on March 20 2009. This is the administrative debut of Raja Menon, the Ad maker along with Giulia Achilli and Raj Yerasi. The cast of the movie includes Naseeruddin Shah (who dazzled everyone with his role in A Wednesday last year), Vijay Raaz, Arjun Mathur, Tanishta Chatterjee and Violante Placido. This comedy plot drives us close to the reality of Mumbai.
Barah Aana is a mixed bag full of entertainment, comedy and drama. Shri has also worked quiet well with the tunes. Overall, it should fetch a good name to the banner Bandra West Pictures.
